You can eat leeks that grow in the spring. They started popping up out of the ground a couple of weeks ago, I suppose at the very start of March. They seem to like it in wet places, but we've seen them on roadsides, in flower beds, on steep hills and by lakes. We've even seen them growing out of bricks and seaside gravel.

They have white flowers with green stripes up the middle of the pettles.

They have 3 sided stalks - so they're called Tricorner Leeks.

Rub them between your fingers, and you'll smell it.
